Sergeant Cade M. Wolfe was born on 8 November 1999. He was a native of Mankato, Minnesota, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2018 as a UH-60 Black Hawk Repairer (15T). Upon completion of Advanced Individual Training, he was assigned to the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade at Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. In 2022, he was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After completing the Regiment’s extensive training and assessment program, SGT Wolfe was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, as an MH-60M Direct Action Penetrator (DAP) Basic Mission Qualified Crew Chief.

While serving in the 160th, SGT Wolfe deployed to Iraq in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE and supported several no-notice deployments world-wide in support of national security objectives.

SGT Wolfe’s military education includes the Enlisted Combat Skills Course (Green Platoon); Combatives Level 1; MH-60M Maintainer Course; Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Course; Mh-60M Nonrated Crew Member Course; and the Basic Leaders Course.

SGT Wolfe’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (w/1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (w/1 OLC), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal (w/1 Bronze Service Star), Global War on Terrorism Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Basic Aviation Badge. He was posthumously awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and was inducted into the Honorable Order of Saint Michael for significant contributions to the Army Aviation Community.

SGT Wolfe died when MH-60M Black Hawk, (DAP) tail #490, crashed into the Mediterranean Sea during a training mission on 10 November 2023.

SGT Wolfe is survived by his wife, Danielle; his father and stepmother, Scott and Heather; his mother and stepfather, Julia and David; and his brother, Cooper.
