Chief Warrant Officer Three Taylor J. Galvin died on 20 August 2018 while deployed in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.

CW3 Galvin was born on 22 December 1983 in Phoenix, Arizona. He volunteered for service in the U.S. Army in 2003 as a CH-47 Chinook Aircraft Mechanic. In 2007, he was accepted to the Warrant Officer Candidate School and graduated flight school in 2008 at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Following graduation, CW3 Galvin was assigned to Charlie Company, 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment at Fort Riley, Kansas. While there, he served as a UH-60 Black Hawk Instructor Pilot, deploying twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. After a successful assessment in 2015, CW3 Galvin was assigned to Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he served as an MH-60M Fully Mission Qualified Pilot.

CW3 Galvin was a combat veteran with 10 deployments. Three in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, three in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and four in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.

CW3 Galvin’s military education includes the Warrant Officer Candidate School, Aviation Warrant Officer Basic Course, Aviation Warrant Officer Advanced Course, the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Level C (High Risk) Course, UH-60 Aircraft Qualification Course, UH-60 Instructor Pilot Course, 160th SOAR(Abn) Officer Combat Skills Course, and the MH-60M Aircraft Qualification Course. CW3 Galvin earned his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle in 2016.

CW3 Galvin’s awards and decorations include the Air Medal (w/“C” Device), Air Medal (w/Numeral 3), Army Commendation Medal (w/2 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal (w/1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (w/2 OLC), Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense Service Medal (w/1 Bronze Service Star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (w/Numeral 3), NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, and the Senior Army Aviator Badge. He was posthumously awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, and Bronze Star Medal.

CW3 Galvin is survived by his wife, Katherine; their children, Wyatt and Grace; mother, LuAnn; father and stepmother, James and Adrienne; sister, Kristine; and brother, Adam. He is laid to rest in Cedar Key, Florida, at Cedar Key Cemetery.
