Meet Christina Herbert, Fall 2025 Intern
Junior at Methodist University studying Occupational Therapy, Christina is the daughter of SGM (R) David Herbert who served 30 years including as Regiment Senior Career Counselor for the 160th SOAR(A).
Duane W. Albro was born and raised on the Albro family farm in Marathon, New York, where he developed a strong work ethic that carried him through every aspect of his life.
A decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War, Duane was honored with the Silver Star and Bronze Star for his service. He was deeply committed to supporting his fellow veterans, particularly through his involvement with the Night Stalker Foundation, where he served on the executive board.

After his military service, Duane earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, graduating magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo. He went on to earn an MBA with distinction from the New York Institute of Technology. He was also inducted into the American Mensa Society.

Duane's professional career began with New York Telephone, where he rose from lineman to senior executive. He later held several C-suite positions and served on numerous company boards, most recently as the Chairman of the Board of Squan Telecom.

The Duane W. Albro Memorial Scholarship ensures that his commitment to education and service continues to impact the Night Stalker community. Each year, this scholarship supports students connected to the 160th SOAR(A) family, carrying forward the values Duane embodied throughout his life: dedication, leadership, and service to others.
His legacy is one that will not be forgotten.

In 2025, the Night Stalker Foundation delivered programs and services that directly impacted more than 1,000 Night Stalker families across the Regiment.

Beyond the Night Stalker Foundation Scholarship Program, there are additional scholarship opportunities available to the Special Operations community. We've compiled a list of programs that current and former 160th families may be eligible for.

Meet Charlie Trussell, Katie Palenzuela, and scholarship recipient Maddy Perez - the people who make our Family Collaborative programs impactful.

Thanks to your generosity, the Foundation awarded 84 scholarships this year and launched a new internship program for scholarship recipients.
