Junior at Methodist University studying Occupational Therapy, Christina is the daughter of SGM (R) David Herbert who served 30 years including as Regiment Senior Career Counselor for the 160th SOAR(A).
We've compiled a list of programs that current and former 160th families may be eligible for.
These scholarships are available to family members of soldiers who are currently serving or have previously served in the 160th.

The Special Operations Fund (SOFund) in partnership with Phillips Exeter Academy is proud to announce the 2025 Exeter Summer Program Scholarship (Exeter Summer) in Exeter, New Hampshire, for children of active duty or retired service members of the special mission units supported by Special Operations Fund. 2025 Exeter Summer dates are from July 6 to August 6, 2026. Applications will only be accepted in PDF format and emailed to nsf.scholarship160@gmail.com no later than January 8, 2026.

For graduating high school seniors with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Awards $10,000 per year for four years. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout college.
Tuition assistance up to $5,000 per year for up to two years. Open to spouses and dependents attending a two-year community college, trade school, technical college, or certification program.
Financial assistance up to $20,000 for college graduates to study, work, or participate in charitable activity. Must have graduated within two years. Requires a 3.2 GPA and demonstrated interest in government, military, Foreign Service, national security, or public service.
$5,000 for study abroad or semester abroad programs. Must be in an accredited course of study or internship. Requires a 3.2 GPA and demonstrated interest in government, military, Foreign Service, national security, or public service.

Pre-qualifying form opens September 15 and closes January 15. Requires AAAA member ID. Submit pre-qualifying form by December 1 to ensure time for application processing.
Open to AUSA Premium Members, Association Members, and their dependents including children, spouses, and grandchildren. Applications open February through May.
For family members of 101st Airborne Division Association regular or life members. Applications open April through June. Includes the Chappie Hall Scholarship (3.0 GPA minimum) and Al & Willamary Viste Scholarship (3.75 GPA minimum for upperclassmen or graduate students in medical or science fields).
For surviving children of fallen Special Operations personnel and children of Medal of Honor recipients.
Applications accepted February 1 through March 31.
Awards up to $5,000 per year, not to exceed $2,500 per term.
The Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program assists children of soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degree. Based on financial need. Must reapply each year.
For children of U.S. military members who died on active duty on or after September 11, 2001, or children of post-9/11 veterans with a combined VA disability rating of 50 percent or greater.
